My chicks are due to arrive the end of the month, so I am getting ready to make a shopping trip for supplies. I have a couple questions re feeders.
1. Do chicks do best with the plastic strip feeders vs bowls? Do you use these strips also for water?
2. Whats your opinion on plastic vs metal feeders and waterers? I have an antique glass top with a metal bottom/dish- can I use it?
3. Once they are in the run- to hang or not hang water and feed?
4. Do I need water and feed...

I understand how it works and have done my calculations, but the results are in 'parts'. Now, most feeds are calculated in pounds, and others are

Also - I'm on about my 4th round of waterers - I'm looking for something that wont' be a)as heavy as the 5 gal field waterers (which are HORRIBLE
to clean) - possibly even autowaterer hookup (I tried some trough style i purchased from Randall Burkey and they are VERY 'cheap') - for a bunch of
