I am also looking to buy some Chukar eggs. I can buy either of these or we can do some trading. I have lots of different kinds of everything. Posts: 731 02/07/08 07:43 AM	I knew it was a Melanistic but most every bird I have seen listed as one was not solid colored like these ones are. I had seen some listed on eggbid as "Blacks" so I ran with it. Thats what I am looking for, ones that are solid dark not mixes.

Can you tell I like them...LOL I bought them incredibily cheap from a local man who got them from someone in S. Texas. I have 5 males and 4 hens. I gave away 2 males but plan on breeding them but was hoping to find some new blood. I saw those from Spectrum too. They are so cool but expensive. But if I don't find anymore this summer I will have to go via Spectrum Ranch. Kay do these look like they are the blacks?

Posts: 2782 02/07/08 06:18 PM "I am Sam, Sam I am". Yes I LIKE green eggs and ham	I dont have much expirence owning or breeding ringnecks but I do know a good deal about them. The cock bird you have pictured catt is a "Black" coloration bird. The "Melanstic Mutants" often have way more green in them than that. The black birds that I have seen are always a dark blue/black where as melanstic birds are always lighter green and blues. Good Luck and watch eggbid...I have seen some black birds on there before. I have Reeves, Red Goldens, Amhearst, The Blacks and Regular Ringnecks. I am looking for an adult Amhearst and a few more Reeves hens, there one of my favorites. Oh and a Silver trio. I am just getting into the pheasants. I really have a interest in the gamebirds. I have Rio Grand Turkeys, one of my favorite birds.

I love the wild turkey strains. We have wild easterns and they are awesome birds. The game commission told us we have the best domesticated wild easterns they have seen in PA. Wild species are so much fun to have on a farm. Great to hear you are interested in game birds too. Jody
