I have a one year old Wyandotte hen that has always been a good layer. Sunday morning I noticed that she was standing puffed up like a penguin and it looked
like she was straining to relieve herself. I brought her in the house, soaked her behind in warm water for 15 minutes and greased her up with mineral oil.
Within a few hours she laid a very thin shelled egg and seemed fine. I put her back outside for the night. Monday morning she was puffed up again and standing
with her legs spraddled so I brought her back in the house and over the course of the day gave her three sitz baths and more mineral oil. Nothing happened. I
did the same thing both yesterday and today and nothing seems to be moving. I stuck a finger in her vent to see if I could feel an egg and I couldn't so
now I'm not sure what's wrong. She hasn't eaten or drank much and she just stands in a rabbit pen in my spare room puffed up and miserable. Is
there anything that I can do for her or is she a goner? Thanks in advance.
