I have a one week old sick baby chick that my kids just found. I am not sure the type of bird. we purchased 25 Rhoad Island reds from Mcmurray hatchery last week and also got one rare bird. Well it is the rare bird that is now sick. They have been in the house since it is too cold outside (my husband is still building the coop). Up until today she has been fine. Now she does not eat, her feet look gray, will not open her eyes, and makes a horrible rasping when she breaths. I did not notice any drainage from her eyes or diarrhea at all. We have seperated her from the others. All others are doing fine. My oldest daughter who is 17 has taken a liking to her and is now in tears. I know it is late and on a friday night but any help would be greatl appreciated. My husband and I are both in the medical field but do not know much about trying to help a sick chick. I am willing to try anything at this point. Thanks, Trish B.
