This is a 9 week old B.O. I have some that you can tell they are for sure roos and some with small combs that are for sure girls,but there are a couple that I'm just not sure.I do think it's a roo,but in hopes that I'm wrong,I wanted a second opinion. This is my first post so I would also like to say hi to everyone!

Welcome to BYC.
I want to call girl. But if you look at the neck feathers a roo will have pointy ones and a hen will have rounded ones. One of my buff girls seemed to get her comb in much faster than the other and it was much more red. Yours does not seem to be very red in the pic.
I'm no spring chicken, but I'm still kickin

The comb is very pale and small compared to the for sure roos.Thanks for the tip about the neck feathers.Knowing for sure that this is probly a hen is very
good news,I have 14 chickens with only 4 for sure hens.Thanks for your help.

I'm also saying cockerel at 9 weeks.

Aren't orps beaks supposed to be white? That one is mighty yellow.....

went outside and checked their beaks,the bottom of the beak is white but the top is actually a brownish color.The breed standard says their beaks should be
white or horn.I don't know what color horn is though.

I would say that it is a pullet by looking at the feathers just above the tail on the back. Fat and rounded off feathers there means girl to me while longer,
thinner and pointed feathers there means boy. So far this method hasn't let me down yet.
