Posts: 1669 08/04/09 07:36 PM	I'm taking a chance..... but my daughter wants a couple of "The World's Smallest Chickens" and so since I won an eggbid auction - what the heck. Joe just looked at me... and sighed..... but he'll live. The incubator is working just fine after a 1+ year break and it had a good hatch rate for the 4-H Fair this past week - just have to tweek the temp up a little for these eggs. We shall see..... But Joe did have to admit that it would be a really good attraction at the farm......so worth the whopping $17 I am spending on eggs to try out..... Posts: 7 10/18/09 05:21 AM	I can attest to the fact that serama eggs are difficult to hatch. I set 29 eggs and 1 hatched..I set 16 eggs and none hatched..I set 12 eggs and 3 hatched..It seemed the later in the year , the better the hatch rate..All these eggs were shipped great distances ..3000mi, 1500 mi.. and several different modes of transport from plane to bus to car. I have spent many $ on eggs but the majority of $ is transport..$54 to ship 12 eggs ..canada post.. I still have 12 eggs in the bator that are destined for halloween hatch date.. THat will be the end of them for this year..They are all in my bedroom and will be til spring. Cheers Gord ont
