We have three ducks and are new 'duck parents' but we've had chickens for three years now. I am trying to find out how duck eggs are different
from chicken eggs. For example, I read that chicken eggs keep a long time as long as the coating isn't washed off. Is this true of duck eggs as well?
They are laying their first eggs this past week or so. I have one drake and two hens [? still learning duck lingo!] I want to try to eat the duck eggs since I
never have tried them. I heard they taste a bit different?
Anyhow, should I treat them just like chicken eggs as far as daily gathering, storing in frig unwashed, etc.? Do I use them like chicken eggs? Omelets, scrambled, whatever? I must admit I am having to 'train my brain' to eat these eggs since this is a new experience, while I've eaten chicken eggs all my life. HA.
Advice? Suggestions?
Thanks!
