We just brought home four month old BR heritage turkeys to raise and show in 4H next year and I have some questions. Right now I have them penned up thinking they should be penned for about a week so they know this is home.

I know I can feed them the same feed we use for our ducks but what else do they need besides maybe some cracked corn?
Any chance they will fly away? Did not think so, but thought I would ask
I'm throwing grass into their pen for this week until they can free range (in addition to feed) . Is this enough?
About how much feed to they need a day?

They did not eat the food I put in last night so i was a little confused this morning. It did seem like they ate what I gave them yesterday morning though. Gave them some veggie scraps but they did not know what to do with them. Put a chicken in with them this morning to make sure they knew what food was but they were not to happy about that so i had to take her out. Pen has a house but it seems they like to roost on the little ledge on the back of the chicken house. They tried to roost on top of the slanted roof. That was kind of funny May have to put a board up there so they do not fall off.

Anything i need to know about raising them that is different than our chickens and ducks? Thanks!
