Posts: 1 09/29/09 08:00 AM	We are new to the chicken business, and we are not sure what this rooster is, if anything. We were told that he is a RIR, but we are not sure, and he could be a mix maybe. I've seen roosters like him. He still has some growing to do, but he is already huge. In this photo, there is a hen behind him, but he's so big, you can't see her. Thanks for any help you can give. Posts: 2 09/30/09 06:58 AM	@BeckT Thanks! I had heard of NHR, but I didn't know much about them. Do you think he's a mix of both or maybe pure (or mostly) NHR? I will do some research in the meantime. We do have two RIR hens who are very dark, so we were suspicious of him, but didn't know if it was because of his sex possibly. But that link I added at the bottom has a short little video and the same photos that are much bigger and they click to huge size. Sorry for the trouble.
