This is what happens after the Hummers are gone and you keep forgetting to take the feeder down.
It got so bad out there we couldn't use the porch in the afternoon. Tomorrow I'll set the feeder up on a fence post a long ways from the house. |

Those look like honey bees, poor babies need something to make their honey.

They are, that's why I'm going to leave the feeder out for them. They're actually getting the syrup out of the feeder, surprised the heck out of
me. I'm also going to set a shallow dish of syrup out for them tomorrow.
Bob thinks he knows where the hive is. There's an oak tree that isn't long for this world. It has a hollow about 8 feet off the ground that you can hear buzzing coming from. |

They do love it, I have a feeder just for butterflies and bees. I've never seen a natural hive of bees but last year my sister in law got a picture of a
swarm on their tree, impressive! We are having a few warm days and it brought the bees out looking for nectar. Julie

Julie, I'm sure this isn't the first time I've forgotten to take that feeder down. Its one of those things you spot while doing something else and
think, "I've got to take that in and clean it to put away for Winter." So, I was pretty surprised to see how many piled up on the feeder to get
at the nectar.
I need to see that butterfly/bee feeder you have. I might need to get one of those. |

I have seem the butterfly feeders advertised in the Audubon catalog that comes about twice a year. I will let you know when I get the next one, It should be
soon with Christmas coming. They have neat stuff I have been thinking about getting. They have Bat houses too and I was thinking it would be good to get one or
two. They eat so many bugs and I see them in the sky during summer nights here.
