I don't care if it sounds crazy to have a chicken running around the house (no crazier than a dog or cat). My boyfriend and I have joked about keeping Turbo inside if only there were chicken diapers haha.
Maybe I should make some for the geese too. They figured out how to come inside by the doggie door. I really don't want them inside anyway, but at least they wouldn't make such a mess (it's only cement in the back room, so it's not that bad) I'm going to get some and keep the chickie inside!!! |

I still have not gotten any LOL. I was wondering who has used them?? are they easy to clean? I am sure they are great if the poop is firm but what if it is one of those nasty watery ones?
LOL I have a "Turbo" too!! She is a sweet Turken and my son named her that because she tucks her wings behind her and her head straight out and runs so fast. He said "she has turbo speed!"LOL We have had her for about 3 years now.. how did yours get its name? Arlene :)

That's a great idea, although the temtptation would be great! I once had a beautiful Silkie rooster that someone gave me after winning it at a stupid raffle. They were told it was a hen... On the third day, he was crowing his head off, and threatening to blow our cover as these were city chickens. I put him in a large cat travel carrier and brought him into the house. Of course I had to let him out. My husband's grandmother was visiting from Czech Republic and was repeating the mantra "those are not house pets". She was right, and boy, a diaper would have been handy! But, It was all worth it to see my cats' expressions. By the way, I sent some photos of the diapers to my family in Czech Republic and they thought it was hilarious!

I have a link to add to this....found it by happenstance browsing.
www.flightquarters.com/index.html I sent them an e.mail and the owner got back to me the same day, she asked me to measure my birds so she could make me the right size. I havn't gotten back to her yet as the diapers are kind of expensive for my girls. Especially my EE, cos she is so fat, lol. My girls are in the house daily and I am constantly following them around with the carpet shampooer. Soo, as soon as I get the cash, I'm going to order some....hopefully they will wear them without protest.... Ohh, and on that site theres a section on how and where to measure your birds! However, be careful, cos I measured my EE and made one of the diapers myself, and it was way too small. Luckily it fit my Phoenix, but my design wasn't quite right and she couldn't walk w/o tripping over it, lol. |

Tazer, I just saw your question.
I made a sample one from the pictures I saw on the site I posted previously. I also ordered the catalog, it has better pictures in it, and its free! With a little perfecting it could be just like the ones you order. I just happened to have all the supplies here, fabric, velcro, and elastic bands. The only problem I had was making the "poo pouch" the right size..the one o made was far too wide and my poor phoenix was tripping over it, lol. I will still try to perfect it, and if I can get it right I will post pics of my birds in them. |

Hey there I'm new here, just browsing old posts. Love this one and I think it's high time someone has made these. I went to the pet store about 7 years
ago looking for chicken diapers and needless to say I got some strange looks but no diapers. They make them for dogs why not chickens. It amazes me how many
people view chickens as just farm animals with no sense and just for eggs. Shame on them!!!
Thanks for the website. Dee |

I have bought these -- wish they used velcro instead of safety pins. I bought a pair with velcro from My Pet Chicken, really easy to put on and take off but
they are not as good because Lucy likes to lay down most of the time (set on her tummy) and the velcro ones do not permit her to do that without sitting in
poopy. So these are a much better design. That said, I'm like Spotted Crow I tend to just clean up after her... it is so much easier to just use the
"green machine" (hand held carpet cleaner) with a bit of pet stain remover in the fluid to clean up after her than it is to put these on and take
them off. The inlaws are coming to stay for 6 weeks and they would be mortified if they saw Lucy pooping on the carpet (well, they'll be mortified to see
Lucy in the house...), so the green machine is being put away and the diapers will be put on daily. Maybe I'll get so used to putting the diaperson her
that by the end of the visit I will find it easier to put the diapers on than to use the carpet cleaner...

my
chicken are 2 year old and and maybe they need a diaper. they do live out side but then i do not need to clean there chicken coop.that is really crazy
what's next a kitty litter or also called a chick litter. What happens when they lay a egg then are they going to poop all over the egg then it will be
hard to clean the egg or it might stain the egg. What happen when you can not catch them that would be a disasters
THAT IS WHY MY CHICKENS DO NOT HAVE DIAPERS.
